How to tackle your Irish identity

What does it mean to be Irish?

When will I get it?

What do I wear?

Is it true?

What is it that I am?

What does Irish culture mean to me?

Is there a way to explain it?

I had an idea about the Irish identity a while ago and I thought it would be helpful to share it here.

As you might imagine, I have no experience with the subject but it is an important one and I am keen to hear your views on the topic.

My first inclination was to just say that I was not Irish and that I had never heard of it.

This is a bit like the first time you hear of the Loch Ness Monster, you know, but this time it is different and you don’t need to worry about it.

I have never heard that term, so I thought I would share the knowledge I had gained through research with you.

I would also like to give credit to the folks at the Irish Census who put the question out there and who made sure it was done correctly.

As always, I thank you in advance for your participation in this and I hope you will take some time to explore it and to tell me what you think.

I hope I have provided some useful information for you and I would be happy to hear from you via the comments below.
